To be able to withdraw money from your customer's bank account, you'll first need their permission. This can be done using a Pre-Authorized Debit (PAD) Agreement that is either filled out in person or online using Rotessa's completely free Permission Form Creator. Here's an example of what your customer would see.
If you plan on creating paper PAD Agreements, you'll need the following fields Date - Executiondate of agreement (typically "today's" date) Type of Debit - Identify if this is a personal or business transaction Amount and Schedule - Outline if the agreement is for variable amounts from time to time or set amounts on a consistent schedule. If there is a specific event or schedule that triggers a PAD it needs to be included Recourse/Reimbursement Statement - Describes your customer's rights if an unauthorized debit is withdrawn from their account Cancellation Instructions - Describes how your customer can cancel their PAD agreement Authorization - Permission to withdraw from their account (signature for paper PAD agreements) Verification - Reasonable means to identify the customers identity and account information Account Details - Bank, transit, and account number from a Canadian financial institution (void cheque works great if you use a paper PAD agreement)
